Prof. Dr. Margot Mieskes
Since 2015 I am a Professor for Information Science at the University of Applied Sciences, Darmstadt.
From 2013-2015 I worked as a Post-Doc at the Institut for Educational Research and Educational Information (DIPF) in Frankfurt, in cooperation with the Ubiquitous Knowledge Processing (UKP) Lab at the TU Darmstadt.
From 2008 until 2013 I worked in companies -- among others EML.
I did my PhD at EML Research (now Heidelberg Institut for theoretical Studies) under the supervision of Michael Strube.
I studied computational linguistics in Stuttgart, Edinburgh and Cambridge.
- I will give a lecture at the Summer School "New Frontiers in Social Media Research"
Currently, I am involved in two research projects:
My research interests are in using natural language processing (NLP) in other research areas. Specifically, I have worked in the following areas:
- quality of summarization and evaluation
- emotion detection/sentiment analysis
- speech recognition
- speech synthesis
